The videos on this page are from the United Church of Christ, the denomination to which Central enthusiastically belongs. In so many ways, they represent Central and we hope to provide our own videos soon. Also, please note: as with any YouTube video, after the video I selected has played, YouTube will “suggest” other videos. These do NOT come from me. To replay the video I posted, hit “replay.” View the “suggestions” at your own risk (grin).
Central “slogans” we put on our worship bulletins:
- Words attributed to Rev. John Robinson as our ancestors, the Pilgrims, left from Holland: “God has yet more Truth and Light to break forth from God’s Holy Word…”
- Words left by Gracie Allen for her husband George Burns: “Never place a period where God has placed a comma,” To which we add, “God is Still Speaking…”
- Our Faith is Over 2,000 Years Old; Our Thinking is Not.
- Jesus Didn’t Turn People Away. Neither Do We.
- To Believe is to Care. To Care is to Do.
Central welcomes ALL the people:
- We practice an “open table” where everyone is welcome to receive Communion. (So that we do not accidentally exclude some from Communion: we use juice, not wine; and in addition to bread, we provide a gluten-free rice cracker.)
- We are “theologically inclusive”: diverse images of God are affirmed and differing expressions of faith are welcomed.
- We are “barrier free” with an elevator and fully-accessible restrooms in every section and level of the campus. We have large print bulletins, hearing-assisting devices, and two services a month have a sign language interpreter.
- We have a “safe church” policy and practice to protect children and vulnerable adults.
No Matter Who You are or Where You are on Life’s Journey, You are Welcome Here!
